After much waiting, the international exhibition, postponed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 epidemy, took place between 14-16 June in the capital of Egypt. HWP participated with a booth and hosted the Hungarian Hydro Innovation Forum Workshop, a side event promoting best practices of the domestic water industry.

The concept of the semi online webinar assumed that the effects of climate change are already showing adverse impacts on the water cycle globally, and can be felt both in Hungary and Egypt. The R&D activities of Hungarian water industry companies offer new and innovative solutions to address these problems. The mission of the Hungarian Water Partnership (HWP) is to present the outstanding knowledge of water management and the accumulated experience beyond the borders of Hungary.

Welcome remarks were delivered by H. E. András Kovács, Ambassador of Hungary, Mr. Hossam Farid, Vice Chairman and CEO, Allweiler-Farid Hassanein Pumps Company and Mr. Gábor Jenei, Deputy CEO, Hungarian Export Promotion Agency HEPA.  Keynote presentations were given by Mr Péter Kovács, Water Director of Hungary and  Mr. Károly Kovács, President of the Hungarian Water Association, and were followed by presentations delivered by senior officials of Pureco-Tradeland Ltd., Puraset Ltd., Hungarian Watertechnology Corp., and Organica Ltd. The workshop was concluded with a presentation about the financial services provided to exporting companies by the Hungarian Export-Import Bank.

HWP’s participation in Watrex would not have been possible without the generous support of the HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency and the Embassy of Hungary in Cairo.
